Doctor of Philosophy, Professor of Electrical-Electronics Engineering
Dr. Denker received the B.Sc. degree in electrical & electronics engineering from Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey, and M.Sc. and D.Phil. degrees from Sussex University, England, in 1978 and 1981, respectively.
He had been lecturing at different universities, including Bogazici, Ankara and Istanbul Bilgi Universities, in Turkey. Currently, he is a courtesy professor at the University of South Florida (U.S.A.).
He has held visiting positions at Keio University (Japan), Sussex University (U.K.), Open University (U.K.), Cambridge University (U.K.) and British Museum (U.K.). In addition, he acted as the general manager of a leading defense industry company (Havelsan) between 1996-2003.
He has been particularly inspired by the applications of digital technologies in history, archaeology, and cultural heritage. He has led and participated in a number of historical and archaeological projects; authored and co-authored numerous papers, as well as a groundbreaking book about Palmyra.
